Ah the Boyne Cable Bridge, one of my personal favourites. Nice captures Roberto. Next time you’re around, you should take the first exit after the bridge (heading North) and drive out the Slane Road for some spectacular side views of the structure. I use the Slane to Drogheda Road quite a lot and keep intending to take a few pictures myself… oh well, one of these days….
Rob.
beefParticipantA favourite spot of mine too! I went down to the riverside to take this shot last monday night…

RobMemberLoGillParticipantNice work Roberto – I’m liking the second one more because if the spread of the cables on the left side of the shot. But I love the slow shutter speed on the first and the way you caught the red ribbon of tail light through the image . Looks good :)
Beef – Thats a great perspective for your shot – I love that you can see the lights of town up the river.. its just a little bit centred in my oppinion.. But a very nice shot nonetheless;)

KPMParticipantGreat shots (both Roberto & Beef).
Keep intending to travel up the road to take some myself.
A member of a camera club I was in had some very similar shots, printed them large for a competition and won.
He said the best part was taking them, there he was, in a hi-vis jacket, and his camera on a tripod watching every single car slow down when they saw him thinking he was a traffic cop !! It was worth bearing the cold wind for the laugh he had.Rgds

beefParticipantCheers for the comments guys, sorry I didn’t mean to hijack your thread Roberto, I was coming in to post my pic anyway and saw a thread about the same place! KPM, I got some funny looks standing in the river bank with a tripod alright! :)
RobertoMemberjlangParticipantNot Pete the blokeParticipantRobertoMemberI did stop my car and took these shots. It was 2 AM and wasn’t dangerous.
ciaranParticipant:shock:
I was wondering how on earth you got these shots. This is a motorway :!: so you obviously stopped your car on it and walked to the point? I don’t want to preach here, but isn’t that a little dangerous, not just for you but other motorists on the road? Particularly at night?

And then I saw your third image.. taken from the middle of the motorway :!: Completely nuts if you ask me!
Not Pete the blokeParticipantCiaran, we’ve just agreed on something, lol! My original post above, which I edited, was to the effect that “I am quite sure he did not park his car on the motorway and take the shot.” An embarrassed brandyman had to do an edit when Roberto then followed it by saying that he did.

Ciaran, you don’t think that most photographers are somehow ‘nuts’?
