Hey Roberto
I have to applaude youre determination to take these images.I really hate passing judgement on people so i’m gonna refrain on commenting but i would say that this is probably typical street fashion of most teens. The second image looks like she has spotted you snapping away, she doesnt look impressed-
On a different note i was went to the galway races this year and wowzer the style of the young ladies was amazing with such an array of colours and styles it was a event photographers dream.
BenPaulGParticipantAll I can think of is that ad that went ‘Belly, belly, belly, belly. Belly’s gonna get ya :D
You’re a braver man than most!
The oul scowl doesn’t do much for me or the girl bent over. Possibly a tighter crop would help. It’s a decent ‘Honest’ picture. I knew there was a reason they invented air brushing :D

I wanted take this kind of shot of the ‘fashion’ of young girls long time ago but never had the cariage. Here it is now.
Until the recent post about legalities of shooting people in the street, I know you were reluctant to do a lot of street photography. I’m glad now you’re happier about getting your camera out and delighted you’re finding the courage to shoot strangers. But as a word of warning, there’s a huge difference between being legally permitted to shooting people and taking your life into your hand shooting Limerick scobies (or any scoby for that matter). Just because the law lets you do it, doesn’t mean the locals will! I took a lot of shots in the riots in Dublin earlier on this year, but from this shot, I think you’re a braver man that I :)
RobertoMemberThanks for the comments.
When I took the shots, never thought about danger but after that yes…..jb7ParticipantI presume you’re referring to my recent post, I was’nt so much concerned with the legalities, there was obviously nothing illegal about it.
I think the difference in this case is that nobody could accuse these people of being anything other than ‘well nourished’.
However there may be privacy issues regarding the use of pictures such as this.

I would still be a little concerned about the use of concealed cameras, particularly regarding young people.
If anything has given photography a bad name in recent years it has been the use of long lenses by red-top snappers, usually for the scurrilous entertainment of the masses.ciaranParticipantjb7 wrote:

Nope.. I absolutely wasn’t referring to your post. There was a whole thread dedicated to the issue of shooting people on the street and what rights the photographer and subject had. The link you included in your reply here was also included in the debate. For your info, you can see the thread here: https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=1136
