Large format specialist Cambo is introducing a new bellows system for DSLR owners
The X2-Pro enables DSLR users to combine the benefits of view camera movements with simple DSLR digital capture. The user’s DSLR body is placed in a mount, which ensures that the camera’s sensor is the optical centre of the system. The system offers rise, fall, swing, shift and tilt movements, as well as using two cross-gearing drives for fine adjustments of the lens plane and fine focus control. The X2-Pro also features a quick release mechanism, which can be activated when the camera is in both the landscape or portrait position, and which allows the DSLR to be removed without having to take off the system’s bellows. Cambo adds that the bellows, which come with either a Canon or Nikon mount, can be extended up to 150mm. The X2-Pro is compatible with Schneider, Rodenstock, Hasselblad and Mamiya lenses. Two lensboards are available – one with a flat fit and the other with a recess based on the focal length of the lens. DSLRs that will fit into system include the Nikon D2X and D200, Fuji-film S3 Pro and Mamiya’s ZD, as well as Canon’s EOS 1Ds, 5D, 20D and 30D.
