Derek two great shots although personaly think the name across them ruins them even if it was down at the bottom were you have your name.

1st shot is good…bit of a crop there I think. 2nd one would be great but for the good old ‘Holiday in Ireland’ ad board in the background….always watch your backgrounds…you really want them clean, unless you’re working for the sponsor! Also, try slowing down the shutter speed…there’s no need for 1/1600 of a sec. A head on shot is fine at 1/500. I only ever shoot at 1/1000 for a start shot…unless I’m doing something totally different. That way you get more leverage with your aperture and more of the bike/rider will be in focus.
On that note, is the rider in the top shot moving..or is he just lying down? If he was moving (sliding along the ground), that would be a mega shot at 1/250 or 1/125 or even slower!
    Just my 2 cents!

v4, you must be the kind of person who goes to boxing fights. why do you want to see people getting hurt. i suppose you will put up photos of animals being tortured next. i think i’m going to complain to ali and ask her to take these down.

Excellent timing. No.2 gives more impression of movement because of the sparks, whereas no.1 is just frozen and looks a bit odd.

I can sympathise a bit with PaddyJoe’s sentiments, too. I can’t separate the pain from the photo in my mind, if that makes sense.

Two good shots. But the second one is definately the stronger.

id agree with what was already said, a slower shutter would make these pics brilliant!!

Good exposure too by the way.
