    i had a photo taken of me and someone else ,anyway my bro took it using my nikon f55 non digital when i went to develop it the photo was out of focus ,anyway of fixing this????????

    I’m afraid the answer is no. Some people try to compensate out of focus shots by over sharpending, but at the end of the day if the shot is out of focus, it’s always going to be out of focus. Depending on how soft it is, you may get away with a smaller print as the smaller you go the less obvious flaws become. Best bet is ask your brother to take the shot again, but get him to do it right this time ;)

    I don’t like to correct Ciaran, but I saw this film once where the FBI or CIA, or somesuch, had this awful out-of-focus photo of a bloke from a CCTV camera. They zoomed in and zoomed in and used this fancy computer enhancement program and it rendered the baddy’s grainy out-of-focus face in perfect sharp detail.

    This was a few years back now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes available on the open market soon.

    I would have thought it should be possible too, using artificial-intelligence based software. It’s not exactly something you could just but like Photoshop though, so I suppose there are two correct answers to the OP’s question – (i) No you can’t, and (ii) Yes, you can. :D
