Micro Mini

AliParticipant
Got this shot yesterday, spent a bit of time playing around with conversions to get that aged feel to the shot. I broke a few rules in the process, but sure isn’t that what it’s all about. :) Comments and Critique welcome.
David_SParticipantwell my first ever car was a mini .. so i am obviously biased :-D
but i think this shot has so much going for it … i love the shades you have achieved ali while retaining great contrast.
all those sleek reflections in paintwork and windows contrasting with brickwork just bring it to life for me.d
ciaranParticipantRobertoMemberTaraMemberi love it! i’m a huge mini fan! i think all the different textures in this picture really make it work.
great picture Ali.
Tara
RobMemberAh the Mini. I learned to drive in a Mini Clubman Estate, remember them? The ones with the wooden strips down the sides? Love the picture Ali. You succeeded well in giving it a nice vintage look (aside from the quite modern alloys).
Rob.
AliParticipantThanks a mil guys for the comments . :) I’m a beetle woman myself i have to say.
GCPParticipantNice one Ali,
my first car was a Mini 850….cost me ?900 at the time and was a year old……Prices have gone up a lot since.
My daughter just bought a new Mini about 2 months ago for ?26,550. Great to still drive one but the comfort level is much better also …… even for a big guy like me !Anyway Ali, nice pic and nice B&W
SwordieMemberEvery time I see the “Micro Mini” title, I expect to see a lovely long pair of legs.
Instead, I see a beautiful set of wheels!AliParticipantdr_wolfenspielParticipantGreat photo Ali. Love the contrasts.
I have a t-shirt with a pic like that on it.joolsveerParticipantI too have a soft spot for a mini. I learnt to drive in one in Cork in 1975. It was ideal for that city with its hills and narrow streets. The only problem was that it didn’t like the rain!
AnonymousParticipantAha Ali
You have done a good job with this, the only thing i would say is that the mini is much better looking front end on or maybe even a 45 degree profile.I see you had to get down low to get this one which is the only way to take this car.I must be Irelands biggest Mini Nut! Have two currently at the moment and usually head out with the local car club, camera in hand at the weekends. This looks like a Mini Mayfair which was launched in 82′ the modern type alloys were standard and everybody from Sting to Twiggy drove them!
I will post a pic of mine soon (pardon my self indulgence) :lol:100% Mini-0%BMW
AnonymousParticipantEddieParticipantLovely image, especially like the beautiful detail in that wall behind the car. car and wall work really well, another nice one for the portfolio. It would make a nice backdrop for a fashion shoot.
