    Hi,

since this is my first post, I would to say hi to all of you. nice forum we have here which I just found it last week and lots of thing i’ve learnt here. these are some of the pictures from Eid celebration last tuesday at Malaysia Hall. It’s a celebration for the muslim after a month of fasting in the month of ramadhan. so, if any of you saw some people walking around with colourful costume but not halloween kinda type, that could be just another malaysian..

Hi Jazree, welcome to the site, good to see you straight in with some pictures-
In a way, these shots do look a little like family pictures, some of the words you used in your introduction were ‘celebration” and ‘colourful costumes’ adn’ Ramadhan’, I think these themes are starting to come through, but they could be pushed a lot further. I would have liked to see more of the costume in particular- Also the relationship with the context (Dublin) doesn’t seem to be explored at all- the Victorian redbrick in the backround could be anywhere (except Malaysia)
But technically very good- look forward to seeing some more-

Welcome to the forum Jazree :)

Compositionally they’re all very well executed and the colours/skin tones are really nice too. For the first shot, I’d have preferred more people and less building. Second shot is my pick of the bunch, with really good use of shallow DOF. Perhaps it’s missing some catchlights in the persons eyes. Next time a squirt of flash will help bring out some. Third shot is a little soft for my liking and it’s impact is lessened a little by not having her engage the camera. But all in all 3 pretty nice shots. I look forward to seeing some more.
