Shots from Studio Open day
-
Not Pete the blokeParticipant
There were quite a few photographers in attendance at the studio yesterday, and 3 models. I took an opprtunity to take a few shots outside when others were using the studio lights and other models.
1. Natasha (I hadn’t realised that the light was as contrasty as it seems to have been, otherwise I might have used some fill flash)
2. Another..
3. And Natasha in the studio (should have had a hair light coming from left hand side as per other thread, but I still like this one)
4. Emma t (left) and Carla in Santa Claus outfits! Carla had wanted to do lingerie shots, and when I suggested she spoke to Emma about coordinating colours etc, it turned out they both had the same outfit! So an early Happy Christmas to everyone on the board!
ciaranParticipantLooks like a fun day.. hope it went well? It’s no surprise which shot I like the best.. the studio portrait. Forgetting the lighting, I think the shot just works.. it’s a pretty shot of a pretty girl, you just can’t go wrong.
As for the santa shots, it looks like you’re shooting your December entry to the competition already!

We had at least 10 photographers there – myself, Brendan Gallaher, Ellude, Gerald Gribbon, Stevejb, Drew, wjkLewis, Jim Lee, Dave Morton, Ken Hartley – some of whom I had only corresponded with on forums or by e-mail, so it was good to meet people face to face etc. I think the models really enjoyed the working atmosphere, with plenty of teasing and having a good laugh.
It is certainly something I would like to try again.AllinthemindParticipantv4hondaMemberbrandyman wrote:

Would this be the same Ken Hartley that used to run a chip shop in Armagh?

A black and white one of Natasha:
aye this one is getting there, much prefer mono for people shots!
Jim LeeParticipantThanks Ross for organising the shoot. Great to put faces to names as well….
wjklewisMemberHey Jim nice to meet you on Sunday enjoyed the chat, would love to have a look at the 1d some time. I have alwas gone for Nikon but when I came home I felt I had to find out more about the Canon, and that was only after holding it for a few moments. I really wish I had taken up the offer to put a card in it and try it for my self. (I’m a bit shy at that sort of thing). perhaps an opportunity might come around again. Learned a lot on Sunday,
many thanks John
PS Where are you in Dungannon? as I work in the area fairly often perhaps you could send me a PM.
