Gig Shots for C&C

Shot these last Saturday in Allens Pub in Clonmel. Lighitng was an utter nightmare, cause it was on in the middle of the day so there was no stage lighting and the band were infront of a huge open window which was a nightmare for my meter.
Still, I think I came away with a couple of keepers, and the band are happy too.

Hi Flipflip, maybe a b/w conversion might take away that yellow, which I find a bit distracting. The lamp bracket in the background doesn’t doesn’t look very rock’n’roll to me, maybe it could be removed/cropped?
Usually with gigs, you might expect to have something out of the ordinary, lighting, set, colour, whatever, Its maybe not the case in your second shot? He doesn’t look like he’s drumming, more like he’s waiting for his cue- maybe not a great look for a drummer. The picture also needs a little rotation, and maybe the frame on the lhs can be removed completely.
All bands have to start somewhere, if the context is less r’n’r then the band would like, then maybe there are other ways to look at the picture other than a straight performance shot- maybe the interior itself with the instruments, a band’s eye view from behind the drum kit, toilets, anything- but I think the b/w would be a good start-j
I dont think you need to look at this shot in the sense of a rock and roll image to be fair. Its in here cause its a picture of a gig. That doesnt mean you have to critique it as a rock and roll image.
im not cropping out the lamp bracket because I would be taking too much from the right side of the image and im not cloning it because I dont clone my images. I dont think it really makes a difference anyway, its out of focus and blurred like.
But sher, each to their own. I tried a black and white conversion, personally I prefer the colour but I think the b and w works too.
