Autumn water, light, and colour
-
John GriffinParticipantKPMParticipant
I like this shot, the colours & movement etc.
Overall I think it could do with a levels / contrast adjustment to give it a bit more ‘oomph’, as I think that the image is a tad too bright, certainly in the top half.Nice movement in the water though, this is hard to capture without blowing out areas, but you’ve managed this very well.

PeteTheBlokeMemberMarkKeymasterThats Autumn for sure, great capture. Agree that you did a good job with the blurred water
without blowing any highlights. What time of the day was it, out of interest ?
Mark
RodcunhaParticipantjb7ParticipantIt looks fine on my monitor, good picture-
Nicely composed, lots of detail-
You’ve certainly come on a long way in a very short time :lol:PixelleMemberThis is another good one, John, so smoooth.
What will we do when the leaves have all fallen?
v4hondaMemberterryMemberHi John,
This location looks familiar, where is it if you don’t mind me asking. It is a lovely composition but I think if you were to crop off the top from half way between the last and second last branches on the left hand tree it gives the image a much more defined colour. The light at the top is quite distracting and a bit too much, by cropping here you are cutting out the light. There is also a very bright area on the bank on the left hand side of the image which looks a tad over exposed so maybe a gradient softening might help. It’s still a lovely image with beautiful colours. Hope I managed to get what I’m talking about accross I’m not too well up on the technical terms being new to photography.
John GriffinParticipantThanks lads,
It’s great to have experienced people to look over shots and point out the things I’ve overlooked and missed, totally missed that white spot, thanks Terry. Great to get JB7’s approval, even though he did manage to get a dig in anyway  I feel like i’ve made it now
Mark, i think it was taken around 3pm.
Terry, it was taken near Kilbride, Co Wicklow.
StevenHannaMemberEggParticipantjjmlParticipantshutterbugParticipantLovely time of year, what did you do to the water? looks nice kinda mystical. Nicely composed and framed would agree with cropping the top a bit more, but it makes for a very nice picture.
Shutterbug :)
carlParticipantJohn,
Lovely image, perfectly exposed.Do you know that spot coming out of Blessington on the way to the wicklow gap thats on a brigde at a bend on the road.
Phew that was a long one! :wink:Anyway, its a great spot to get more shots like your one!
Carl.
