Also from the recent Cartoon gig – Karen fronts the band and is a pretty charismatic ‘mutha’ :D , has a very strong stage presence. Boy can she sing!
Your comments & critique welcome as usual, particularly observations or tips on use of flash, which I’d like to improve on (I hate using flash but some situations just demand it). I chose these imges to (hopefully) get more of a reaction, as I worked each one slightly differently.

JohnnyMcMillanParticipantWas that in the Half Moon?! I was there that night too! I like the last one best…teh rays of light coming out of her mouth! As for the flash…I know that it’s neccesary, cos I know how dark that gig was…but perhaps tone it down half a stop or so…?
stasberMemberThanks Johnny,
Yes that would have been me climbing over people to get some of those shots and acting very sober-like trying to concentrate amidst an alcohol-ridden audience prancing about out deliriously! That was one solid gig, great night.
Maybe that half stop is what I’m looking for then (though in that case the first pic probably needed 2/3 less or so).
The first two are full frame, and the 3rd one is cropped slightly from the bottom right corner, to 1:1.618. I overlaid a spiral afterwards and was pretty pleased with the result as it follows the curve nicely.
LoGillParticipantComposition in the third is spot on stas..(interesting that you used the fibonacci spiral?? :) ) I really like that one – with the second I couldn’t help wishing her eyes were open for than one :)
The suggestion about the flash sounds good to me .. Nice shot !

Hmm, interesting. Putting aside that I was there (hence making mine a largely subjective take), this picture to me still looks like one of those hugely tuneful “mmmmm-mmmmm–mmmmm..” ‘s 8) .
