Would be very interested and appreciative of any C&C on this image. Took this lying supine on a tarmacadam tennis court one lunchtime a couple of months ago before the skies turned grey. There’s something about it that I like, yet at the same time, something that just throws me but I can’t figure it out. Any feedback welcome…
Dont quote me on this, but I think there’s a compositional maxim that if a strong line divides the image, dont let it terminate on a corner. It could be this thats a bit jarring, or the lack of contrast between the netting and the trees behind. Not sure if I can make up my mind about it either!
Exposure looks good to me.. I haven’t checked histograms but there might be little blown bits on the white band .. could be my screen though ! The diagonal works.. BUT.. what doesn’t quite gel for me is the DoF in the trees particularly … not quite enough i think ?
Ah cheers folks for the comments. I knew there was something not quite right, or some things I should say. Everything you’ve said makes sense to me, about the diagonal terminating in the corner, dof, etc. Still, I won’t bin it just yet. May revisit it and mess about a bit. Thanks again
