I’ve been looking at this shot for 10mins now, and I still haven’t managed to find a head yet, let alone hair and tears :?:

Seriously though, I think her breats are a little too dominant in the frame and really take focus away from her eyes. It also looks like her face is about a foot in front of her body? I’d be inclined to crop tighter on this and focus our attention on her eyes, removing the other “distractions” :)

I’m with Ciaran on this one. It lacks a congruent narrative. I think if you’re going to show boobies the facial expression needs to be far more powerfull.

    All best

The boobs are quite distracting alright  but i do like the intensity in her face, she looks like she put everything into the shot. The crop for me is a bit tight and the foward pose does make her frame unnatural looking but all in all you have the idea and with maybe a different pose/composition you could really pull it off.
Looks like an interesting shoot,do ya have any more?

I’m sure the burning was a quick fix and as such looks a little OTT, especially where you can see the greyness, but the idea is spot on. On the second, I’m drawn immediately to her eyes. if you were to try the burning again for a print, can I suggest doing it the opposite direction, where the shadow comes from left to right, to match the lighting on her face?

I have to agree… the boobs, while pleasing, distract mightily from the effect. This was just a quick and dirty, obviously stuck with the low res version posted here… but why not just title it “tears” and have a crop something like this?

Having seen this image elsewhere and not commented on it, I find my reaction to it is still the same now that I’ve seen it here – a mixed one! On the one hand I really like it, but on the other hand I’m struggling to find context – it’s the background more than her boobs which is distracting me (wonder what that says about me :( !) Also, the tears look like they are stuck on! I love the expression however and I think the eye make up is great.

Does an image always need context to work? No, I don’t think so. But somehow I find the lack of context in this particualr image unsettling.

I really like the original Image… sure there are some distractions…. but with an image like this you look at it for more than a second. When you do the focus for me anyway always goes back to the eyes.

    Hi
The cross-processing effect is mad and i am always excited to see the results from it when working with film as it was so uncontrolable, there is a slight hair thats runs astray under her chin which looks like she has a double chin,(pardon me ifi’m seeing things  ) otherwise the second shot is my pick out of the two.
