Shortly after this was taken (in the middle of the IFSC on a Saturday afternoon… or was it Sunday?) the police stopped at the curb and all the skaters left. This is actually a crop of this shot

Well timed capture… especially as the kick-flip technique you caught him doing is a very quick trick.
I love the shadow… pity it’s diffracted by the step.
The original is also good… It gives the skater more room as I feel he’s a bit boxed-in in the cropped version. The two bollards add to it too… it’s nice because he’s in the middle of the two. If you wanted to give the skater more space, you could have a bigger crop and clone out the bollards easy enough…
Well, that was just an attempt at a golden ratio crop from the original image… here’s a square crop, which I actually like a little better:
