Nice and sharp, good colour saturation and great use of a shallow DoF. I really like this shot!

Lovely MJ. I’d probably crop the out of focus leaves at the very bottom.

I love stonechats. It’s the way they sit on the highest twigs and make that funny noise.

This is a much better photo than the one you put in a few weeks back. Maybe you were just paving the way?

Normally I skip past the nature section and even on the rare occassions when I do pop in for a look, I’d normally skip over bird shots. I’m delighted I didn’t in this case. Super shot. Sharp, well exposed, perfect composition and the 500mm has really thrown the background out (even though it was f9). Absolutely super!

    Cheers all for the C & C,

I didn’t even know I had this shot it turned up on an old laptop of mine. At the time of shooting I really didn’t know much about camers etc. Hence the f9 (LOL). I was very lucky with this shot because I think it’s a juv. bird and I was able to get very close and this gave the detail and helped throw out the background. I recently posted this shot on another forum and the mian comment was to clone out the poo on the bracken (LOL).
