Here is one of the first photo’s i took. It is from the Tour de France many year ago.
A quick grab shot over the barrier. C&CRg Neil
Brian_CParticipantNice shot alright. Don’t know the rider, but Ireland’s Paul Kimmage rode for this RMO team in 1987 and 1988, the team hasn’t been around for quite a few years, I think they folded about 1992/3ish.
ExpresbroParticipantI can’t help thinking what is going through the riders mind when he looks back in this pic.
If it was me I’d be thinking…”..Ohhh shit!!!”
Great Picture. I can’t really comment from a technical point of view…but for an action pic it does it all for me. The tension in the riders leg muscles and arms…ready to take off..then the glance…and the great mass of riders behind…out of focus…waiting to attack…as one.
Also…when I see a pic like this can’t help thinking of the amateur photographer who stepped out in front of a sprint a few years back and caused a humungous crash…(got himself a broken collar bone in the process).
neilmcshaneParticipantThanks for the C&C.
The rider in the shot is the french rider Charlie Mottet and if my memory is correct he won the stage.
Every time i wahct the Tour on the tv I start to shout at the people who run along side the riders in the mountain stages.RodcunhaParticipantI think you captured a great image but most of all a great moment in a race…
Great sports picture!
Rod
neilmcshaneParticipantThanks for the comments Rod.
Little did i know what i started when i took this shot !Brian_CParticipantIt’s a good shot alright. I’m not sure though it’s Charly Mottet, he’s pretty slight, look at the riders big chunky thigh, I thought Jean Claud-Collet or one of the Madiot bro’s. Might be wrong though
ValentiaMemberGreat shot. The DOF is perfect, giving a feel of the force behind. What lens did you use Neil?
neilmcshaneParticipantThanks for the C&C lads.
Brian_C
It was Charlie Mottet all right.Valentia
The shot was taken on a Canon EOS1000 and a 55-80 zoom i think.
