Gorgeous child. That second one is a killer portrait. Absolutely love it, expression, light, dof, everything. Perfect.

Beautiful portraits. Did you use available light?
Yes, the light from a window (while eating breakfast!).
Here’s another one…
PeteTheBlokeMemberJust back for a second or third look. I prefer the first two, but they look like there’s a slight blue cast on my screen, but I’m not a renowned expert on these things.
I think no.1 is probably the winner. Lovely enquiring expression.
FlipflipParticipantNo there is a light blue cast alright, if you have the RAW then warm them upa little!
Great shots though and great expressions.
fstop89564ParticipantelludeParticipantThanks for the kind comments :)
I’d agree about the slight blue cast on the first pics, although I thought that to some extent it helped give the cold, grey morning look (I shot in jpeg mode with the white balance set to cloudy).
Here’s another with a much warmer look. I always find it tough to get colours looking looking the way I’d like. Generally speaking I try to make any changes to the entire picture rather than specific areas, otherwise it loses the natural light look (for me anyway)….
ThorstenMemberLovely work – you just can’t beat natural light (blue cast excepted, that’s something you can deal with). Reminds me that I’ll have to try and get some up to date shots of my own kids over the Christmas period. Not an easy task – they’re both so clued into what I’m doing when they see me with the camera that it’s difficult to get a natural shot of them. Will probably just have to take lots and lots until they reach a point where they get bored with playing up to the camera and start acting naturally again!
AliParticipantreally like these…was scrolling down through the images and i was praying to god he’d engage the camera :) … so it has to be the third image for me :)
very nice work as always.DarrenGParticipant
