Now, I love coffee. So I’m naturally drawn to a posting with ‘coffee’ in the subject. What sort of beans are these by the way?

On a more serious note. I kinda like it. Particularly because the subject is interesting to me.

Something in the composition doesn’t sit right with me though. I think its the bean you’ve chosen as the focus point. I look at it (the bean in focus on the left), my eye follows onto the 2 out of focus beans behind it, and races out of the picture behind. Then I have to bring my eye back into the picture to look at the 3 beans on the right. I get back to the bean in focus and race out of the picture again. Perhaps the bean at the front of the RH cluster would have been a better centre of focus.

The beans looks like quite a dark roast.

I’d be interested to hear what lens/lighting you used.

biggest coffee beans iv’e ever seen. you could go into business putting each one in a little bag and selling them as “bean bags each one makes two cups” like them yorksire teabags.

But Paddy Joe, someone would have too invent a giant grinder first.

And Pete, it is a dark blend alright, an Arabica bean from Helmut Sachers. Does a really great espresso when ground right.
