Hello,
I am Jakki, I’m 23 and from Belfast. Im only an amatuer photographer- I would like to do a course in photography, but places are always scarce.
I’m using an old compact digital camera {nytech 4020} which isnt exactly very good. I’m hoping my hints {leaving the jessops catalougue opened at digital SLR page} will pay off, and some kind soul will buy me one for Christmas. {although i Doubt it}
I just got Photoshop a while ago, and I’menjoying learning and plaing around with it. I think it’s helping me understand all the different aspects of picture taking.
At the minute i’m enjoying snapping everything, but I guess eventually Imight want to concentrate on more specific subjects- although thats a long way off I think.Thanks- and I’m really looking forward to being part of the site!

A warm welcome to you Jakki in this winterish weather we are having. Hope Santa is good to you but remember its not the equipment that counts totally, its how you use it. Use this site a lot and you will learn a lot especially the critique section. Also buy lots of photography magazines.

Hi Jakki and welcome, Santa took my hint, hope you had a bit of luck. I have to learn from scratch again not that I knew anything before the new camera. As you said courses in Belfast are few and far between unless you have plenty of money.
