Fireworks at the castle!!

Great shot Danny. Saw your post earlier in the week and was planning to bring the kids but I thought it would have been called off ‘cos of the weather.
It’s a pity the flash didn’t fire though :)
Both Dave and Digitalbeginner mentioned flash, which puzzles me a bit? Why would you think of using flash in this situation?
The castle is obviously WAY too far away for flash to be used, unless you have a flash gun the size the sun and for the fireworks themselves, surely you want a relatively long exposure, so as to capture the explosion in full and leave the explosion provide the illumination for the shot? What am I missing?

That’s what I thought originally, which is why I didn’t ask the question then. But then Dave asked again.. so I thought I was/am missing something :?:
Your fireworks shots looks great but THAT is a stunning stunning image Danny … I know we’ve seen it before .. but everytime .. wow! sigh ! ;)

Very nice photo of fireworks with good composition and colours.
The second shot of the castle is good too. Only the light is disturbing. Maybe if you would move more left and covered that light with the tree would be better….?Thanks everyone. Roberto, unfortunately moving to take the light out wasn’t an option. I did clone it out of “the minister’s” Christmas card by adding to the tree on the left. I kinda like the light but many people don’t.
