Sydney Opera House

I took this over Christmas I didn’t have a tripod with me and the only flat surface around was a table. The focus is on the end of the table which I wasn’t intending but I like the result especially for a piece of architecture as recognisable as the sydney opera house. Any comments or critique is welcome. Happy New Year to you all

Great perspective that I’ve not seen before of a very well photographed building!

I’d crop the LHS to make the building less central, and shame about the DOF, but love the shot none the less!

Also, what aperture was this taken at? I’d like to have seen the “star burst” effect often seen on night shots on the lights – you’ll find a smaller (higher f) aperture would give this.

    Hope it helps!

I like this – the tabletop actually looks like water with lines of rope across it. I would possibly lose some from each side and crop it in a bit but thats the only change I would make to it.

    Thanks for the comments guys

The camera was on shutter priority with a shutter speed of 1sec for which the camera selected a aperature of f/3.5, which is the maximum of my lens. This was one of my first attempts at night photography and I really don’t know too much about it next time I’ll try a smaller aperature see what happens. How bout this for a crop? Please feel free to edit my photo I changed my profile to allow editing, never realised it was set like that.

I like the croped version. Interesting colours.
