I’ve been trying to think of something to say about this shot…as have others by the looks of the number of views..

I’m not sure what it is…but I like it…the angle of the shot…the incongruity of the religious message sticker on a bagel tray..

Or maybe it’s just because you were very quick to spot something like this….I’m sure I wouldn’t have.

Nice DOF and nice composition IMO… :D

I fit into that category too – been thinking abhout what to say for a while.

I really like the composition and the DOF, tones etc, but for some reason it just doesn’t quite jump off the screen at me. Maybe it needs more contrast. Maybe it’s not quite super sharp. Maybe it’s neither of those – I really don’t know!

My images seem to be getting into the habit of getting views and few comments…It could be that nobody likes them very much or they aren’t sure as to what to say. I’ll take it as a compliment that I have a style of my own :!: :)

I do remember the image being a touch flat to print. My scanner wouldn’t be cutting edge either by any means. I’ll give it a tweak in PS later today and repost…or feel free to have a go yourself.

Was this scanned in from film?

It’s scanned from a print, but I didn’t change anything after the scan other than some the tiniest amount of contrast increase & sharpenning I think?

I think that’s definately why it doesn’t jump off the page at me – I bet it looks much sharper and has much stronger tones in print?

Not sure how to avoid it, but most shots I’ve scanned always seem to loose a little “x factor” in the process…
