Not sure if this is the right place, maybe should be Street?
There are some really nice sculptures around Dublin at the
moment, this is just one of them that I liked.
Hey shutterbug. What whas the reason for b&w as opposed to colour? Because of the era this chap would’ve come from, perhaps, when there was only black and white printing/photography? :-)
I only ask because IIRC, the sculptures themselves are grey/black, so ‘he’ may have stood out a little better in colour?
My other thought is that the chest and face are very dark – you’ve lost a lot of detail there. A different angle would let you get more detail on the face and provide a better ‘connection’ with the subject, which there isn’t for me in this shot.
Can’t remember where this particular sculpture is now. South side, opposite customs house?
It was a typical grey day and there was no colour in the sky
or water so thought I might as well make it black and white,
and you are right I should have probably got down a bit more
and maybe more in front of him, but when you are on your own
and there are loads of people around I feel a bit conspicuous
crawling around the pavement! Would probably do it if someone
was with me though. It is across from the customs house you’re
right! Thanks for looking, appreciate your comments.
