They are indeed some nice shots…but just for me it raises issues, but that’s a personal thing. Now i just need to find a zoo with models walking around enclosed…lol

I think the Dublin Zoo Lions are Barbary Lions. We can thank the Romans for their near extinction. The Zoos in UK and Ireland are doing a great job in breeding them. I don’t know if they’ll ever be released to the wild (Lions can be released unlike some cats) but the problem is there might not be territory for them. Believe it or not, Lion numbers are decreasing in a big way. Some of the national parks in Kenya are either without or nearly without Lions because of human predation.

I must agree i would like to see them in the wild rather than some enclosure

But for me, its the closest I am gonna get to photographing these creatures in the near future, so for that i am greatful

My mind was swayed about zoos after watching a program about a small zoo somewhere in florida. the people that run it have had to evecuate it numerous times because of hurricaines.

The people who run it care so much for these animals, most of which have come to them from injury or stupid people trying to have them as pets. The zoo keepers actually care so much that when there is a hurricaine they actually all go to the zoo managers house with all the animals without sleep etc to keep them safe.

in a very ideal world all of these animals would be fruitfull in their own natural envioroment but hey zoo exist and most of them do a great job.

So i am quite happy to pay my annual membership etc to help keep these things going

    yea the harbour is great

Take some bread, and flick bits about 1cm square up in the air and the gulls will come hover about 4 ft away from you in the air, the pose great for pictures
