Buying a camera.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn?t entirely sure where it should go.
The question I have is about part exchanging a film camera and lenses against buying dslr.
I know it?s better to sell your car privately rather than part exchanging it, but does this hold for camera equipment?
Looking at the prices on eBay – should I take them as the most I?m likely to get in a sale and maybe half as a part exchange?
I know I could just take them into a shop, but I?m asking here because if my chin is going to hit the ground I?d rather it was here.
It?s an OM10 with standard lens, wide lens and zoom, motor drive and manual adapter.
Or should I just keep them?

My advice would be to keep them. I kept my film bodies (35mm and MF) because the actual monetary value I was going to get for them was far less than their perceived value to me although I hardly ever use them. I now have the option of shooting film or digital, which I think is great!

    Thanks for the reply, Thorsten.
I think you’re probably right – I’d never get what I think they’re worth, plus if I did get rid of them I’d only have the lens that came with the dslr.
If I kept the 35mm kit I’d have a choice of lenses, for film at least.
