Conmike12Participant
Just and ordinary tern, captured in corkagh park recently while i was trying out my new lens.c&c appreciated.
MikeanywhereParticipantI hate it, the quality is pants like all the others!!
Said in jest mate!! Keep them coming, I love your work
Conmike12ParticipantPeteTheBlokeMemberjoe_elwayParticipantNormally this viewpoint is just a no-no. But you got the eye, sharp detail, great action shot (the tail, nicely formed wings) and a splash of water falling from the bill. You hit the sweet spot on the exposure too. All together, it works for me. Quality.
wavydaveMemberterryMemberYou managed to hit this one spot on. No missing wing tips or tail feathers and as for the water droplets from the beak well what can I say just fantastic. Well done. Love the colours too.
Terry
RobMemberI agree. Cracking photo and super sharp. Just one question though, was this framed like this in camera or did you crop afterwards?
Rob.
Conmike12ParticipantI cropped it down afterwards. i took 2oo shots of these terns as people were feeding them and only got four that were ok.They fly so fast, and it was my first time trying to capture them.It was some laugh though,i didn’t know which way to be pointing the camera.I just checked and the cropped file size is 1800×1200 ,if that might give you a better idea of what i cropped.i used a 20d and shoot in raw.
steelydanParticipantI like it for the composition, the wings tips go from corner to corner ..Nice
jb7ParticipantReally nice shot,
even at this level of crop-
A good looking bird,
well captured.j
John GriffinParticipantCracking shot! Only one problem, its not a tern, its a blackheaded gull in its winter plummage. Common mistake :)

I thought that too, but didn’t quite have your confidence. I hope you’re right – or now we’ll both look silly!
