hi, i photographed a friends, friends wedding last year, my first and only wedding
there was no album in the deal but now their asking me for advice, so i’ve been looking around for one on the web
does anyone out there know of a good place to source albums in Ireland
thanksKPMParticipantIt can be quite difficult sourcing albums in Ireland as I found out over the last year or so :o
Usually you have to be a full time professional to get your hands on the higher quality ones, but these also tend to have higher prices. A lot depends on what they are looking for, very often your best bet would be to go to the likes of Easons and buy a standard album and mount the photos directly.
If you are looking for matted prints with overlays etc. beware of the time & effort involved in putting them together properly.
A couple of links for albums here as follows :
http://www.photovalue.com
http://www.jmphoto.ie/albums/showalbums.php?dir=avantaTry these and see if they fit the bill.

GCPParticipantTo get a good one here you do have to be a professional photographer as KPM has said. The good ones are not cheap as little or none are produced in Ireland and the distributors have a firm hand on the market …… so its difficult. Have you tried talking to a Professional photographer that you know ????? who might help out
ThorstenMemberA timely thread, given the fact that I’ve just this week started researching wedding albums myself. I’m just heading into page 15 of The Professional Photographer’s Digital Wedding Album Design Guide and it seems like a very good read.
You don’t say whether they want a “traditional” style album or a “magazine” style album, but I assume the fact that you already have prints means that they are looking for a traditional style album. I’m sure that if you do some careful “googling” you’ll uncover some solutions. You probably won’t find anything that easily in Ireland but if you include the string “site:uk” (without the quotation marks) in your google search query it will search only on UK domain names and should help you restrict your search to what’s is available in the UK – for example, one site I came up with was http://www.parker-photo.co.uk/
jb7ParticipantI visited the SWPP show in London last week,
and it seemed like half the show was given over to them.
I only gave them a cursory look however.Maybe they have some links on their site?
They do have a trade directory link-

ThorstenMemberYou probably can’t wait until the Focus on Imaging show in a months time, but that would be the ideal thing to do. It’s one of the things I intend to look at when I’m over there. I’m compiling my list of questions for the various suppliers now :)
earthairfireParticipantthomasMemberthanks for all suggestions folks. Ive plenty of ideas now, you all kick-started my brain into gear
ill get back to them with loads of ideas and try to pin down what they would like.I’ve recently been asked to photograph another wedding early next year in Trinidad

thomasJim LeeParticipantThere are “Professional Wedding Photographers” on here and I’m sure they could get an album from the wholesalers for you if you asked
