Suzanne – portraits in a public building

Some pics of a lovely model called Suzanne….
We’d actually hoped to do these outdoors (my favourite place for taking pictures, lol). However, being January, it turned out cold. So much so that it seemed unreasonable to ask Suzanne to stay out and freeze! We ended up going into a nearby public building and did these shots along some corridors where there weren’t too many people about. The building had lots of large windows so it worked out fairly well.

(Hope I’m not annoying anyone by posting too many pics – these are all small files around 100kb so should take too long to load. We took around 50 pics in total and I actually liked nearly all of them, but these are a selection of my favourites).
AliParticipantYou have to be one of the most consistent photographers i know. All super shots, #3 and #6 for me , absolutely stunning.
Whatever about nailing one shot, you’ve clearly mastered the art of producing a great series of images each time.
Very nice Ellude.thomasMembera good selection of shots, ellude
i liked em scrolling down, each one
good workExpresbroParticipantBeautiful shots and a beautiful model, Ellude. My two favourites would be 2 and 6. I especially like the way you have brought out the colours of her hair in No.2 ..and No.6 is just enchanting, and all with regular indoor lighting I assume. Hopefully I’ll be able to take portaits like this one day.

You’re kidding, right! :) Keep away from that experimental stuff that you tried some time ago and stick with this type of work. I for one won’t ever tire looking at images like this. Others might disagree but for me these have a simplicity and naturalness about them that makes them very very strong images. All I can really say is F*&%king Brilliant (and I’m not one that uses profanities a lot, but here I use it in a very positive sense).
I think you should start giving workshops. You’d be surprised how much demand there would be for them. You’ve often said that what you do is nothing special. But that’s just the key to you’re successful images. Where most of us waste time faffing about trying to come up with “creative” poses and “creative” post-processing, you just get on with it. Of course it helps that you’ve always got beautiful people to photograph  but even when you don’t, you still come up with the goods!
MarkKeymasterIf you’re looking for critique which I assume you are, then you we recommend only say 3 or so per post
otherwise people may not stay for them to load and therefore appreciate them.Anyhow, super work !

AliParticipantNot Pete the blokeParticipantDont know how I missed these ones earlier in the day either……..?? But anyway, great stuff as usual Cliff.
For those of you who dont know, Cliff has made an Action which incorporates all his image adjustments, sharpening and cropping, all at the press of a button. It is fantastic, as the images above all prove!!
If you send him an e-mail he will send it to you free!!
Isnt that right Cliff??Cliff.…? CLIFF…??

What version of Photoshop is he using? Mine doesn’t let me incorporate posing and communication commands into my actions

Thorsten, if you ask him he just smiles and says “Im not very good at photoshop….All I do is a wee curves adjustment and thats about it…I dont know enough to do anything more than that.” (or words to that effect)
He then opens the window and flies away on a pig……….

ThorstenMemberWith shots like that he doesn’t need to be very good at Photoshop. In fact, he doesn’t even need Photoshop!
wjklewisMemberGreat shots Cliff, as someone said very consistent every one a winner. I mentioned this to you before one time, if you are willing to run a workshop I would definitely be interested. I guess Ross is joking about an action????. Whatever you are doing keep doing it, it is a pleasure, to look at your images.
John.
