I’m sure a little bit of careful work with the clone tool or healing brush would remove that
    scratch in jig time.
No doubt others will find the crop too tight, but I for one am a fan of this type of shot and
I think you’ve executed this one well. Like the subtle framing too.
My only niggle (and it’s a minor one) is that the dof is just a smidgen shallow; the point of sharpest
focus seems to be the tip of the nose and those tiny eyelashes are thrown out of focus. Aside from
that, you’ve got a lovely shot here Thomas. Nice work.

very nice Thomas. I like it all including the shallow DOF. I think the softness (if you can call it that) suits the precious nature of the subject.

Not a critique really, but I think this would really suit a square crop as well.

If you’d like me to remove that strip I could do it in a few minutes and repost it for you.

    Lovely baby.

    thanks guys
i cropped it tight because she’s in a car seat, and her ears are squashed in by the the padding
the black triangle on the bottom right hand corner is the seat belt
the scratch was caused by scanning the print, its a all in one print, fax, scan, copier… the print passes over the scanner window, it’s scratched or something
i seen a canon flat bed scanner in Argos that can scan slides and negs 4800×9600 dpi for 120euros that i might get
its all i can afford at the mo and it’ll do for posting my pictures online

thanks EAS for the kind offer, but there’s no need.. how would you go about removing the scratch anyway, the cloning thing or the healingbrush ?
i have ps3 elements, and im only learning it, bit by bit
