Dublin Cityscapes (from last night)
-
RodcunhaParticipant
After finishing with Dave I went down to the city center, the day was dull and foggy but I decided that since I was there I was going to wait and see what would happen.
In the end this are 2 of the shot’s I took, as usual C&C is more than encouraged…
Regards,
Rod
earthairfireParticipantThe top one is the shot from me – looks great!
Maybe chop 20% off the base of it, so that the points of interest aren’t smack bang in the middle of the shot.
Tim
ajParticipantRodcunhaParticipantThank you both for your kind comments,
here is another one from earlier yesterday, this is a HDR from 3 exposures…
earthairfireParticipantNow that I like. A lot…
Surprised you couldn’t get more out the clouds with an HDR, though – looks a little flat in the sky – the reflection seems to be stronger than the sky itself (especially next to the orange buoy).
With a little further post processing, I think this would be a real stunner.
Tim
RodcunhaParticipantI could actually get much more from the sky but it would give too much of a HDR feel that I dislike in photography, I like smooth HDR, the kind of thing you would suspect but wouldn’t know if you were not told, if you know what I mean.
ExpresbroParticipantGreat shots Rod. These would look fantastic as postcards. Maybe start up the Photography Ireland Limited Edition Postcard company…
Really can’t wait to get my D80 and attempt to get results like this myself :D
Robbie
8)nolongerParticipantThe two night shots are absolutely brilliant. I love the colour of the sky in the second one.
RobMemberPixelleMemberThese are all beautiful.
Just a puzzle about the first. The reflections from the lights appear to flow downriver so to speak, and I’m wondering why.RodcunhaParticipantp&s wrote:

Thanks all for your encouraging comments, they are very much appreciated. My photography improved a lot latelly and it is in part due to our great community here in photographyireland.net, my thanks to Mark and the mods for running such a brilliant forums, and for moving my posts when I post them on the wrong sections too :D

Interesting effect, thanks for the explanation! :D
mgstParticipantThree great shots the two night shots are superb and i really like the hdr treatment of the third shot.
Mick
joe_elwayParticipantThe top two would be way better as letter box, IMO. The first needs a nudge counter clockwise to get it vertical.
