Co. Galway Locations

Hi all I’m heading to Galway this weekend and I’m hoping to get my camera out. Anybody have any suggestions for some good locations? I’m staying in Headford so Lough Corrib is a possibility just not sure about vantage points etc. I’ll also be in the city for a while on saturday. I’ve been to Galway loads of times but never had my camera with me and to be honest never really took too much attention to possible photos. Any tips are appreciated and of course anything good to come of it will be posted here next week!
Cheers

StephenIs your camera a waterproof model?
If it’s scenery you want go up to Roundstone and head back along the coast to Leenaun, if there is a break in the cloud you may get a few pics at the moment it is raining on top of the 6″ of snow from last night, so who knows what it will be like the weekend.
ExpresbroParticipantSounds like you better head down to Lidl and buy a pair of ski’s before you go Stephen…
MikeanywhereParticipantWe had some snow last night & this morning but nothing to worry about, well in Galway itself, not too sure about in hickville.
Some places I would recommend are:
Galway Catedral
Oranmore Castle
Ross Lake, Moycullen
Derry Clare Lake, Co GalwayI will add more as I think of others for ya
GCPParticipantStephen, seeing your staying in Headford, I suggest you go to Cong abd see Ashford Castle and the old Abbey in Cong. There is also a cave there that leads to down to an underground river that joins Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Also its where the “Quiet Man” was made and some of the buildings are preserved from that time. Worth a visit and just a short spin from Headford.
