I’ve just got 16-45 wide zoom for my digital Pentax camera! I’ll tell you what, that’s superb piece of glass. If you are a Pentax user and looking good afordable wide lens you should probably take a closer look at Pentax DA SMC 16-45 F/4.
Well, pesformance is great (almost), image quality excellent – images are sharp like a razor. It’s massive (front thread is 67mm) so handling is superb. And the constant aperture of F/4 is nice a lot :) The only minor problem I’ve noticed is AF performance on 16mm end in poor light conditions on my Pentax K100D.
If you are going to enter into landscape photography or just love taking architecture shots I can recommend this lens for you. And if you could get it for less than 300 euro you should do it!
If you have any further question, give me a shout.
It is a super bit of glass, I agree. The 24mm equivalent on the wide end makes it a excellent landscape lens.
If you’ve got more money burning a hole in your pocket I would recommend getting the 14mm DA to compliment it. It will take you that little bit wider and has better flare resistance than the zoom. Not cheap though.
