My apologies to all, for the wrong statement I made regarding The Rock being a separate entity. The Rock is indeed a cut-off from my Seascape photo and was done a number of years ago. My error is down to poor memory and not a deliberate attempt to dupe people on this forum, as I have numerous Photo’s of standalone rock formations taken in Australia and Madeira. I have made no secret that I use software (ie. PSP), to improve and edit my photo’s, for which I have done to a large number of pictures over the past few years. The actual removal of some aspects of my photos’s (as in the case of The Rock), and the resulting mirroring and editing of this work is simply to create artforms for transfer to canvas, as is done with many of my other pics.
The wrong statement I made replying to Andy’s query was ‘off the cuff’ and certainly not intended to deliberately mislead other forum users. My integrity would not allow me to do this.
On reading the further queries in respect of this matter, I searched my files, cut out and compared the aspect of The Rock & Seascape concerning the issue involved, realized my error and have no hesitation in retracting my previous claim. If this explanation is not acceptable, I will gladly remove myself from Photography Ireland.

I always enjoy a bit of CSI too. I’m just waiting for the moment someone catches me out with a spotted airbrushed footprint.
The whole thread has certainly raised some interesting debate about manipulation. I think that people are generally fine with it as long as they don’t feel cheated. To some, an airbrushed footprint might be just as offensive as a sea stack that doesn’t exist. In many ways your sea stack was an obvious “cheat” whereas my airbrushed footprints are more devious. But if someone asked why my sand was so perfect I would have no hesitation in telling them it was airbrushed.
Anyway, thanks for clearing this up.

Respect to you for that – everyone makes mistakes!
Look forward to seeing some more posts. Just be careful what you say (or don’t say) about manipulation or the photoshop police will rain down a torrent of pain on you :lol: :lol:
