I know what’s on my shopping list. That there is my next purchase if all goes to plan.
GrahamBParticipantI think I need a moment alone.
As an amatuer it would be wasted on me

mervifwdcParticipantI have a 1dMII for sale. I’ve placed my order for the MIII already. MII available when I get my new one :-)

ndairlParticipantThorstenMemberThere’s an interesting write-up on Rob Galbraith’s highly regarded site – A first look at the Canon EOS-1D Mark III.
It says that “The camera’s features may be difficult to sum up, but the camera’s performance isn’t. It’s awesome. Pixel-for-pixel, the image quality is the best we’ve seen from a digital SLR, and except for one preproduction body glitch, it’s also the best SLR we’ve ever shot with too. The EOS-1D Mark III shows a level of design care and engineering thoroughness that is simply unprecedented. Its list of features is impressive. But actually using the camera reveals how impressive all these features work.”
It highlights the glitches too – “There is one cause for concern, however, and it’s one to pay close attention to if you’re planning on buying an EOS-1D…”
Worth reading, regardless of whether or not you are thinking of getting one of these.
joe_elwayParticipantThere have been delays in manufcaturing which has impacted shipping. This article would suggest it was a problem with the AF that Canon slowed down things for. I also read on another forum that a dealer in the UK claims to know that the mk III will start to ship from Japan next week and hit UK shelves (and quickly out the door on pre-order) in 2 weeks.

I got to play with it for a few mins, but there were other people trying to get their hands on it and a guy from Cannon going on so its hard to really make any real assesment of it.
Apart from its is mental quick in burst mode. the guy from cannon was saying they put a high speed card in it and were about to get up to 220 as a burst of JPGS before the buffer choked
joe_elwayParticipantThere’s crazy delays on this puppy shipping … if you want to call them delays considering there never was a release date announcement. Rumour is that they’ve shipped in Australia (they’re always one of the first) and in some Asian countries. Rumours too that initial deliveries will be hitting Denmark and some pro shops in the UK at the end of this week.
