The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!!

ExpresbroParticipant
Just something about this shot reminds me of a modern day Spaghetti western..set on the streets of Dublin 8)
EDIT: Took on board some of the comments and came up with a slightly different edit. Cropped a little tighter to lose the street sign, cloned out most of the overhanging branches and reduced the sharpening.
Does it improve it over all?
carlParticipantGreat shot Robbie,
I love that fella’s expression on the right (priceless) and the fella smoking the cigarette on the left. There is loads to keep your interest in this shot.
Well done,Carl.
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Carl :D
When I was taking it I thought he was actually looking at me and was ready to sprint…heheh! But later I realised he hadn’t been at all..certainly looks ready for action.
davenewtParticipantWhat’s the story with the detail you’ve “lost” in the tree branches expresbro? Did you flood-fill the wall? Just curious.
Take it easy,
D.ExpresbroParticipantNope..nothing as drastic as that..so I’m not sure what has caused that. I noticed it myself..but wasn’t too worried about it to be honest. It may be that I’ve over sharpened a little..or it may be that I had to tone down for the wall because it really was bright to the point that it was spoiling the rest of the shot.
Not sure if that explains anything or just makes it murkier…
davenewtParticipantMaybe oversharpening is the culprit. The shot as a whole does look very contrasty and over-something’d :-)
D.
PixelleMemberI love the different expressions in this one, there’s a lot going on.
Is everythint tilted a bit to the right – or maybe it’s just built that way, it IS Temple Bar after all!
ExpresbroParticipantExpresbroParticipantThanks P&S. It was a difficulty image to get straight to be honest. If i rotated it to make the background straighter…the stall looked off…I could have cropped higher…but I like the table supports. In the end…the shot is about the expressions and the faces…so I’ll live with the technical flaws..and there are quite a few…
But like ya say..it’s Temple Bar..everything is a bit skewed down there anyway… :D
Robbie
PixelleMemberY?es, I think the table supports have to be left in, they add context. I might have cropped as much of the sign on the left as poss to give more emphasis to that cryptic observer.
Madra RuaParticipantThat’s a great shot Robbie. I really like it. 8)
I’m not into this sort of thing normally, but something about the frozen activity in this one appeals to me.
There is a lot going on and so many characters to check out,
and still it seems to be one image as a composition.I am starting to realise that I really missed out on something when yis all went into town
:(ExpresbroParticipantIt was quite productive for me Hauke….is a pity you didn;t make it okay. But I for one know there’ll be lots more…I enjoyed it too much for there not to be.
We’ll organise another one soon and make sure you can make it this time.
Thanks for the comments on the shot…next time hopefully I’ll be shooting with my new Mistress Nikon…hehehe!!
mgstParticipantInteresting shot that works very well in B&W the guy on the right looks like
he is giving someone the evil eye.GrahamBParticipantNice one Robbie. I like that there is so much going on in this shot.
Some people may argue it looks cluttered but to me it is just a collection
of individual storys. I love all the faces and how different each one is.Jay KingParticipantYeah a lot in this photo to keep you interested it’s great…
But my favourite part is the title! The 3 faces you see… from left to right, the good, the bad and the ugly! Not that he’s that ugly… but it fits!! ;)
And then the Wild West book for sale… Excellent!!
