New jewellery pic with a borrowed macro lens

For some strange reason coloured pearls are always MUCH easier to photograph than white or ivory

I’m pretty pleased with this one, taken with a borrowed 60MM Nikon macro lens

    Feedback anyone ?

    tks

Like the way you have used a shell to display them,
though the background drowns it out a little, I am not
very good at PS but had a little go anyway, hope you
    dont mind?

adjusted the contrast and saturation a little, maybe a little too much
    saturation?

    Hi Noel,

This shows off the detail much better. Maybe macro is the way to go I too really like the use of the shell in the shot. Well done glad youre happy hope it gives you the desired results. Might try macro mself now never thought of it to be honest.

Thats great Noel. Good and sharp, nice setup in terms of the shell/lighting.

Yep, what Mark said, with shiny things, the reflections are what counts, looks like you’re using a light-tent or something similar. You might like to try putting some strips of black, or random dark bits of card at the sides of the tent, to give more depth to the reflections…

    Nice shot!
