Hi Puckpics,
I’m not entirely certain what to make of this one,
perhaps its because all the interest seems concentrated in the square of the door-
Given the choice,
I think I’d prefer to see the top of the leaky parapet thats out of frame,
rather than the buddlia (or whatever it is)
creeping into the shot from the right-
it would maybe add a little to the overall decrepitude
which seems to be the point of the shot-
Its difficult to tell,
but there may be some barrel distortion present,
whether its in your optics,
or the structure of the building is impossible to call
There’s maybe a slight lean too-
There is something about this shot that isn’t quiet right.
I’m guessing this shot in the “decay” theme of things and yet some
of the colours on the door are kinda vibrant which throws off the feel of the shot.
Maybe if the framing was little more focused on the door and included ( as previously mentioned ) some of the leaks
you may acheive a more run down look.
Perhaps as a B+W conversion would work here.
As reagrds the barrelling effect, the wall does seem to take a strange line
across the shot just where the wall meet the ground. I’m sure it’s in your optics though
it does seem to be a crooked wall. That could just me though.
