Free Hotshoe Level!!

Just thought I’d post this up since this little item was discussed recently in the forum.
This month’s issue of What Digital Camera (?7.20 in Borders) has a free Hotshoe Spirit Level mounted on the cover (although half of the copies in this store had the level pulled off ..). The mag itself has some pretty good articles including a How To on Spring Landscapes. Pretty good value overall..though I reckon they wont last long on the shelf :-)

8)My advice would be to buy two or three issues as I can easily see that spirit level (yeah, I got one :) either getting broken or lost in short order.

SodaYeah Carl…I noticed that too. Some little buggers had pulled all the levels off the covermount…out of 5 mags in Borders only two had levels attached.

Robbie I managed to get one today (eventually). do you think Mr Mcinroy is out on a mission to save the level horizons in Ireland. :lol: :lol: :lol: .
Not a bad deal as they are dearer than the Magazine and some thing else to read after we have just got our new D80’s DOH!!!.

So was a pretty good deal. The mag isn’t bad…some good reading in it…

I picked up a copy of What Digital Camera with the free hotshoe spirit level in Easons in Liffeyvalley today and they had other copies and all had levels attached, I also saw it on Halls web site for ?18 :lol:

Robbie I don’t get using it as much as I would like too. Had it out last week at a GAA match couldn’t believe how quick it was and was reasonably pleased enough with the outcome ( https://www.photographyireland.net/viewtopic.php?t=5087 ) was hoping to try today as our Senior Reseves were going for promotion (won by a point). The camera never even got out of the bag as the weather was terrible.
I am off to Salou on the 18th will hopefully get plenty of practice.

SodaYeah…it really is quick..certainly when compared to my Fuji which really had quite bad shutter lag compared to the D80. My first real chance to get it out was on Sunday afternoon at the Horse Fair in Smithfield when I took a ramble down there with Ciaran and Lorraine and Dave. Didn’t much chance to try the speed of it…frame rate wise…but I love that you can just fire off one shot after another without any perceptible delay.
What size lens do you have btw? Noticed you commented that you need a longer lens on that thread. I got the 18-135mm Kit lens…which is fine so far..but sometimes would be nice to have a little longer reach :D

If the level is not on a copy of the magazine, ask at the till. Sometimes they take them off in case people steal them or they get lost, etc.
:cry: Tried to track the level down in Wicklow today. Only one copy of the mag in the town, and yes, the level had been lifted.
Ah well….
