Smashing morning today in Clonmel so I headed down to the local lake and took these 2 shots. C + C welcome, especially for ideas on how to maybe crop these?

In the first, that bird is wearing its surroundings like

Nice sharpness and great colour. Didn’t have much luck myself yesterday … didn’t get out till the light was too harsh and then had to quit before there was some great warm light.
Love the second one in particular-

jb7 – I stood in the same spot for about an hour and eventually they began to trust me, coming within 10-15 feet maybe… (I’m not very good with distances :) ) It’s a spot where lots of people come and feed the ducks and swans so the song birds are probably a bit cheekier, coming down for some bread for themselves… Both taken at 300mm.

beefHave to agree on the second shot…really nice and sharp and great DOF. You must have the patience of a saint to stand in one spot for that long.
