I stuck some twigs into the ground in front of where the birds liek to land and browse and set up the hide in front of them. Some Chaffinches were making great use of them as approach points. Only a tiny amount was cropped from this…. I was as close as my 100-400 would focus at the 1.8 meter setting would allow. It’s a little overblown. I also need to pick twigs a little more selectively so they are mor horizontal at the top … I don’t like how the twig cuts the bird off.
