Last one from Portstewart last weekend.
Taken on my 21mm prime lens, no filtration, no fancy “post” process, back to basics. What do you think?

Would make a nice print I’m sure-
you just can’t beat a good wide prime-Its a real tester compositionally,
because there’s not a lot there,
the poles form a single group against the backdrop,
so its all about where they’re positioned in the frame-And I’m sure no two people would put them exactly in the same place-
Always assuming, of course,
that they hadn’t simply walked by,
without noticing them in the first place- :wink:Not to take away from what I already mentioned,
this would make a lovely print,
but it does look slightly lacking in drama, or stillness,
or any of the things that are nearly suggested by the composition,
maybe it would be worth another,
in different weather?j
Jay KingParticipantHi Andy,
I like this… the posts and the lines in the sand work well together, and lead you out to the dead straight horizon…
Have you a larger version… would you consider a tighter crop to the the left post? Not so much from the bottom but more off the left hand side…?
andy mcinroyParticipantYes, Jay,
I had considered this. I will give that a try. It is already cropped somewhat to how a saw it in my viewfinder, but I think you’re right that it could do with some more.
Straight horizon! , Phew, only just. PTLens doesn’t have a profile for the Pentax 21mm pancake yet. I had to improvise.
JB7, yes you can’t beat a wide prime, but this would only be 32mm equivalent on full frame. Not too wide for a natural looking persepective.
I’ll keep my 14mm on standby for the really wide stuff.

erinParticipantHi Amcinroy,
Love the minimalism of your compositions!! The light and the tones are amazing too. Great tips above
