Moody shot – nice guy

GrahamBParticipant
Ok folks to be honest this is was an experiment using a new filter i downloaded.
I know it’s more than a little dark but I want to get rid of a lot of junk behind him.
It was funny because I initially wanted to get of shot of him and his wife. His wife refused but
he jumped at the chance to have his picture taken for free.
Anyway feel free to roast me. I know i deserve it for this one.
I have got to stop messing and get seriousGrahamBParticipantWow – 90 views and no comments. I’m not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.
constantineParticipantDerekLavertyParticipantHi Graham, for me the shot doesn’t work. ( Personal opinion ). I don’t like the amount of detail that has been lost in the image, i.e. I’m not sure if the fellow is bald or has hair like Albert Einstien. The way his bread dissapears into his jumper and his jumper into the background. The facial tones in the image are way too dark for my liking also. Not sure if it’s my monitor or not but there seems to be a slight sepia tint on the image as well. Sorry for the harsh critique but it’s just not my bag, but at least you got out there and took the pic, for that i give you full marks………
Derek………….
GrahamBParticipantThe more i look at it the more i tend to agree with you Derek.
The strange thing is I got this printed in 8×10 for the guy and
it looks a lot better.I think I’m going to have to revisit this one.
Oh and yes there is intentionally a Sepia tone to it.
I’m not a fan though I think I went over board on this one.GrahamBParticipantOriginal

I’m not sure if these are any better. I really want to present this photo well
but I have to be honest I am struggling. I don’t it’s a good picture to start with.
If anyone has any advice I’d welcome it.FlipflipParticipantbyrne5012 wrote:

That wrecks me head!
Hmm, i dunno what to make of this shot.
I like the effect you were going for with the filter but I think its gone a bit too far. Maybe back it up a bit and it might be a bit better.
I mean, you can still easily get rid of the stuff in the background without losing detail on him. Just select the background and do a quick levels job!
GrahamBParticipantThanks Flip – I am git for rushing the processing side of things at the moment.
I am going to sit down this weekend and really put some quality time into some of my shots.thanks for the tip I really need and appreicate them.
