On duty!

I was at the Ireland v Wales match in Croke Park on Saturday.
I was in the very back row on the Lower Level of the Canal End.
I had almost a letter-box view of the pitch in front of me, but look what was behind me…DavePParticipantciaranParticipantClass… it’s a pity about the reflection on the top right. One thing to be careful about is that it’s illegal to photograph and publish Gardai that are on duty, if they are identifiable. So be careful!

“the taking of a photo of a garda while on duty is not illegal however the publication of said photo is, if the member of the force is identifiable. However if the photograph is of a member of the garda whom acts unlawfully or against the public good, then the garda is no longer acting as a member of the force but as an individual and therfore the photograph may be published”
SwordieMemberMartinParticipantgreat picture. really like this, if i was him id be watching the TV too. must be really boring walking around like they do
AliParticipantWell caught Swordie :) You had a great day for the match but judging by the feedback it was still bitter cold. Myself and David_S are going to Wednesday’s match – I’ve swung two premium tickets for the cusack (85 quid each – we better bloody win  )
SwordieMemberYes, I’ll be there on Wednesday too.
Same seats as last Saturday.
Maybe our uniformed friend will be on duty again!BeastParticipantciaran wrote:

It sounds like one man’s opinion. There is no mention of what legislation makes it illegal. If there was such a law our newspapers standard fare of technical bureau at crime scenes and local gardai standing on guard outside them would all be making their way through the courts on a regular basis.
