ExpresbroParticipantJaysus..ya had me worried there for a sec Steve..hehe!! That says Dublin 2007…
I did push the temp a little to the warm side to emphasise the colour of the wood…might be a little much maybe…?
stcstcMemberhe he
thought it might be funny to make you look twice, he he
sorry dude i couldnt resist
i think it does look slightly warm, but i guess thats a taste thing
joe_elwayParticipantNice shot Robbie. I like the wamth of it. Have you tried desaturating it (-40 or so) and boosting contrast to see how it looks?
ExpresbroParticipantThanks Aiden. I’ve actually looked at it in b&w and it looks pretty good. I’ll play with those saturation levels later on and check it out.
Cheers :D
mervifwdcParticipantExpresbroParticipantGrahamBParticipantNice capture Robbie.
The first is a great picture but the warmt and depth of the colours
are at odds with the title. IMHO.
The B+W works well for given the subject matter and the title.
Decay for me is dark and miserable but colours in the first are really alive.
I’m probably not making any sense so feel free to ignore me.ExpresbroParticipantI am the Messiah of Photoshop..hehehe!! I give life to dead things…
I know what ya mean Graham…I just am such a sucker for those rich colours…it’s either that or Black and white… :D
Believe me though..that piece of wood is dead..decaying..it’s an ex-tree…but it is surrounded by new life all around it..which is kind of what I wanted to capture…I’m just gonna have to get the hang of selective masks one of these days :-)
Thanks for the comments guys…and Graham..it’s impossible to ignore you

I’m not sure if I should be offended by that.
Seriously though they are great shots. The Nikon looks good on ye.
ExpresbroParticipantMe? Offend?? Surely not!!
It was meant in the best POSSIBLE taste Graham….
Thanks…I’m loving it too…still in the honeymoon getting to know ya phase though…probably will be for quite a while yet I reckon :)
joe_elwayParticipantstcstcMemberAidan, I like the edit, the colours are much more appealing like that. it does not look as warm
Robbie, not sure about the B+W i dont think it does your image justice, think the colour looks much better
ExpresbroParticipantI like how you threw it together Aiden..
Does look more natural okay…sometimes subtlety is not my greatest strength..hehe!!
