These are lovely but… it’s the light of course.
If you wait until the sun moves on you may get a better shot that shows the curtains, but it is not always possible to wait.
So I prefer #2 but is it possible to include the chandelier?jb7Participantp&s is right of course-
slightly later would have balanced the interior and exterior light-It does look like it could have been a candidate for HDR too-
nice interior, though the framing is maybe a little tight,
the arch could maybe do with a bit more space on the sides-imo-
j
RobertoMemberThanks for the comments.
It was shot in the Farmleigh house around 6.30pm. I could not stay longer because the visit ended that time. On the side of the arch are white panels and did not want to include in the photo. In the original you can see more details in the two windows but I lost these after conversion.
jb7ParticipantI see what you mean,
they do interrupt the decorative mouldings-Are they there for protection,
to protect the walls,
do you think? It looks like there is better detail overall in that last one-
j
RobertoMemberThis hall is for the state visits and maybe the walls are protected from danger visitors…. :)
Details are better in the original and I think that is worthy to play more with the conversion to keep the details.ExpresbroParticipantI love the second shot Roberto. I think this would be my favourite shot of yours I’ve seen to date :D The texture and light on the wooden floors reflected from the windows is really nice. In the first shot the light appears just a little too harsh and the texture in the floor is lost. Although the chandelier looks really great.
Overall No.1 is a really great shot in my opinion. :D
Just as an aside…When Farmleigh gets into full swing again in the summer it’s a great place to spend an afternoon and some great photo ops with the different gardens and buildings and even an organic produce market on Sundays.
MikeanywhereParticipantAliParticipantWhat a gorgeous room. Really like the second shot – there’s a lovely softness about the image that the first seems to lack.
Very nice.
