Danny, I have to be honest i really like this shot.
I do think though that as a shot of a piano player it
is a little vague. Maybe it’s just my monitor but I can barely make out the piano at
all. For me the shot doesn’t really work in the context it is intented but as a shot on its
own it is very appealling. IMHO anywayYes Danny its been a while :) too long
Love this.. I can see enough detail in the piano so for me it works . Love it

the only thing that would bother me
is the shadow that connects his chin to the lid-j
Nice one. Like the composition a lot, though I too would like
to see just a little more detail in the piano. Just a tad too dark
to make out its lines clearly.Rob.

Thats it, I’m buying new monitors.
For me is a bit too dark as well but I can see a bit of detail…
As to the photo, I love it! Its all I can say… just love it!

Thanks everyone. Yes the monitors are getting a good mention here and elsewhere. I don’t know for sure. My monitor is calibrated and I see enough of the outline of the piano lid for the photo to work for me but I suppose it needs to be printed to get a better idea.
I agree jb about the point of the chin meeting the lid. The shot isn’t perfect by any means but it was one of those shots at 2am in poor enough lighting that happened to work better than I had hoped. I will do a bit of work on it to see if I can develop it a better.
Thanks for the crits. I’ll take them into account in the reworking.
