Kite Surfer ( I think )
-
GrahamBParticipantS-ManMember
quite like robs shot.
It looks like he is about to take off with the kite.
nicely croped, well spotted, its sharp enough from what i can see and the exposure is alright.
:D Nice shot :DGrahamBParticipantThanks S-Man.
Robs original shot was a lot better if i’m being honest.
I was trying to isolate the kite and the girl rather than taking the whole scene in.Thanks for the comments
FlipflipParticipantExpresbroParticipantI know from the one I did Graham that these kinda need to be viewed as large as you can go within reason. This sport seems to be growing rapidly down on Bull Wall…
Must get back down there again soon..is a nice place to spend an hour or two..and there’s always something to photograph.. :D
randomwayMemberI was shooting these guys a few weeks ago and this was exactly what I wanted to get, but I never managed to get it. I think, the lens selection was my problem. What lens did you use?
I like the tones and the composition. This is a very small image here, but the pose of the figure looks very funny… would you have a full sized version on the net? Maybe the kite could have turned a bit, I can’t see any other flaws, great image!GrahamBParticipantThanks for the comments folks
Robbie – I’m gonna try and get this one printed full size and see how it turns out.
I might give our new best friend a shout for printing this one.Randomway – I used the Canon 17-85 lens – exif is a F/4 1/1600 ISO-100 FL 24mm
Flip – you and me both – damn difficult to get the shot I wanted, i compromised on this one
ExpresbroParticipantWhen you say printed full size..are you talking A4 then? Just curious, cos I really need to start printing some of my better shots and getting them up on the walls. The web is all well and fine, but I think a photograph needs to be properly printed to do it justice.
GrahamBParticipantTotally agree Robbie, I didn’t get into photography so that i could fill a hard drive.
I would rather fill a wall of an album, thats the point of all this in my book.
With regards the size i really don’t know to be honest. I’m gonna take the full size shot
into a printers and get them to recommend the size. I’ve heard that with the size I shot in you can go to A2
without loosing too much detail but I’m really unsure on this one. I’ll be posting for some advice I reckon.ExpresbroParticipantThat’ll make two of us so.
At least it’s a sign of progress that I’m thinking about printing now. :D
GrahamBParticipantI actually had a huge arguement with a guy on another forum about this very subject.
He point was that with digital there is no need to print anymore. He was using those digital frame things,
which personally I hate.
I love getting a shot right, getting a good quality print and getting it framed or mounted.
Without printing this all seems a bit pointless in my book.
Maybe thats just me.LoGillParticipantAs much as I would love to see this closer – I think the fact that her body is mirroring the kite in ths shot makes it wok.. a big print would be the clincher (A2 .. Hmmmm thats very big, I’d be curoius to see how that turns out)
Its a super shot Graham ..
Enjoy it :)
LAliParticipantThis is super Graham :) I wouldn’t change a thing about the composition. Looks good to me. Agree with you on the printing – it’s a must :)
GrahamBParticipantThanks guys, i’ll shout when i eventually get it printed properly.
Anyone got recommendations on where i should go.
I normally only get my stuff printed in Gunns in A4 or 8×10
I don’t know if they go much bigger than that
