Taken from the hill of slane today C&C welcome.

Slane is such an impressive, important and influential site that it defies a simple description. Steeped in myth and history, the hill towers 158 metres (521ft) above the surrounding landscape and has breathtaking views of the countryside.

I agree with everything you say, wonderful location that I like to visit often.
Legend has it that St Patrick himself set a bonfire here to herald the arrival of
Christianity in Ireland against the backdrop of the pagan fires burning on the
distant but visible Hill of Tara.
One question; on a day like today with such wonderful light, and with such
a vast panorama of rolling hills surrounding you, why on Earth would you want
to display this image in monochrome. What a waste of the forty shades…

I think the B&W image works better than the colour. The colour image leaves me looking for the sun glasses and the foreground looks too dark into the light of the sky. I would suggest darkening the B&W image further to simulate moonlight and add to the emphasis of the subject matter.
And maybe it’s my monitor but it does look out of focus very slightly where the B&W image may divert the attention from this fact. Framingwise it looks good and well thought out. Nice one!
