Nikkor 85m F1.8 AFD

  Just got my hands on this lens during the week, had no chance to give it a test run before this morning.

  Had a couple of communion sittings in the house and had the 85mm on one D200 for head & shoulders, and on the
  other D200 had the 18-200 vr for family, full length etc. Lighting consisted of an Sb800 & 600 fired remotely, both had
  Gary Fong Lightspheres attached.

  Was very happy with the 18-200 results, nice sharpness etc. untill I saw the results from the 85mm.

  This lens is fantastic, had it stopped down to f2.8 and the results were stunning. I had often used the 105 mm f 2.8 but this
  is a bit long for indoors, even still, the 85mm kicks its ass in terms of quality. I also prefer it to my 50mm F2 Zeiss T* which I use on my Contax G1. I don’t think I will ever take this lens off :!:

  Anyone else out there use this lens ? If so, are you as happy as me :lol: :lol:

  BTW – Can’t post any samples yet as the parents haven’t seen anything, let alone given permission yet for usage etc.
