    Hello All,

Took these this evening. Took them at Beaumont Bridge just outside Duleek in Co Meath

Let me know what you think. I was very luck to get the horses i think

Images taken on a Nikon D70 which was Infra Red Converted. Shutter priority of 90th sec. Aperture was between F8 and F19. ISO 200 Lens was a 12-24

    Cheers

I’m here with mate Paul-he’s a D70 owner. We’ve been out shooting IR recently. Me with 30 sec exposures on the 20D and him with normal exposures :(
    These are excellent. Love them.
Great processing on them as well as the tasteful composition.

Martin beautiful pictures definitely doesn’t look like Ireland more like a scene from Narnia.
Particularly like the second one kept looking back at it to make sure it wasn’t a unicorn  as it wouldn’t have looked out of place.

Yeah these are just super… they kind of make me regret passing down my old D70 to my dad, rather than having it modified :(

    Really really REALLY super shots.

Well done Martin, they’ve got to be amongst the best IR I’ve seen.

Logill: I believe that the D70 has been altered/converted to pick up Infra Red.

They’re all excellent – the IR treatment results in some amazing tones. I particularly like the seond one.

Thanks for the nice responses all,

I’m really happy with them my self. I have been going through a bit of a photography creative rut for the last few weeks as i had not taken any good pictures. I have a good few other pictures taken from that day which came out very nice also, i’ll post some of these later on to see what you think. I printed a few of them to see what they looked like in print some of them printed very well especially one of a tree and stump which i will post later on.

seanmcfoto: I was there before with the R72 filter on a D200 doing 30 sec exposures so i feel your pain, very happy i converted the d70

Sodafarl: Yes they do look like something from Narnia thats why i love infra red photography, don’t know why more people don’t try it. An R72 filter costs approx 60 euro

ciaran: Pity you gave your dad the D70, only costs approx 90 euro to convert it your self as i did

Mark: “amongst the best IR I’ve seen.” If you want to see a master of infra red check out ” http://www.marsdenarchive.com/library ” it was this guy who got me into it

Thanks again and thank god the site is back up as i was suffering withdrawal symptoms last night and today, thank you Mark

I was actually in the middle of a reply to this post when the site went down..!!

These really are stunning shots Martin…the kind you want to look at over and over again…and like you said…the horses really add to the composition.

Just hope everyone doesn’t go mad now and start ripping the sensors out of their very expensive DSLR’s..hehehe!!
